A modder named Boris "Oct0xor" Larin recently revealed that they have created a third-person camera control mod for Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the game (thanks Kotaku!).
If you ever wanted to play Metal Gear Solid 2 with a third-person controllable camera (still locked to your character though), you might just be getting your wish soon, as a modder is making a Metal Gear Soldi 2 third-person camera mod similar to how the camera from Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence acted.

With both mods installed and your save loaded up, simply press B on your keyboard to change to a third-person view. There are four third-person camera angles available to you, and you can cycle through them by pressing B.

Modern Warfare 2 third-person mode is a drastic departure from what most Call of Duty players are used to. Typically, in Call of Duty games, your screen is limited to the viewpoint of your Operator. If their eyes wouldn't see something, you won't either. However, the third-person mode offers an over-the-shoulder view of your character, allowing for a much broader view of your surroundings.
To play third-person mode in MW2, browse the playlists for options with "3rd Person" in the title. When the match starts, you'll automatically transition to a third-person point of view. There are plenty of ways to tailor the experience too, like adjusting your third-person field of view in the settings or swapping shoulders in-game to engage enemies from a different angle. And for precise targeting in firefights, you can aim down sight to changeover to a first-person view.
Weekend Two of the Modern Warfare 2 Beta offered a 3rd Person Moshpit playlist which featured Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint. The new era of Call of Duty provides all new ways to play, whether that be in the new DMZ mode, the long-awaited Warzone 2 experience, and the return of third person. Third-person mode was promised for the new Modern Warfare 2, which was fitting considering that the mode officially debuted in the original MW2 from 2009.
When third-person for the new MW2 was announced, many hoped to see the new perspective on Call of Duty come to Warzone 2 as well.
